Hubertus von Amelunxen, Ph.D.,: Walter Benjamin Chair at EGS, is Founding Director and Professor at the International School for New Media in Luebeck (Germany) and Senior Visiting Curator for Photography and New Media at the Canadian Center for Architecture in Montreal (Canada). Longtime editor of FOTOGESCHICHTE, a leading journal, Amelunxen is an internationally recognized philosopher of photography in the age of media with cross-disciplinary interests and as innovative curator. Former professor of cultural studies at Muthesius-Hochschule Kiel (Germany), he was visiting professor at the Higher Institute of Fine Arts Antwerp, the University of Dusselforf (Germany), and the University of California at Santa Cruz (History of Consciousness Program).
