ELECTRONIC FRONTIERS: Cyberspace and Philosophy

Description: This course focuses on the work of John Perry Barlow. Through intensive readings, group exercises and creative projects the course aims to inform the future of cyberspace philosophy. This course discusses privacy, electronic freedom and basic cyber-politics. Through asking the important questions that are shaping our future any student interested in security and independence in the cybersphere must attend.

Objectives: The course aims to inform students MA or Ph.D. written and creative work. Students must bring to class their own research and independent work surrounding these issues to facilitate discussion that moves the classroom forward. At the end of the course students will have the knowledge essential to contemporary academic debates surrounding issues of security in cyberspace.
