| Claire Denis, filmmaker and director talking about narrative structures in film and the novels of William Faulkner. In this lecture, Claire Denis discusses Faulkner's novels "The Hamlet," "The Wild Palms," "Pylon," and it's film adaptation by Douglas Sirk "The Tarnished Angels," and Faulkner's time in Hollywood as a scriptwriter in relationship to Dashiell Hammett's "The Dain Curse," "The Pink Panther," and Harmony Korine's "Mr. Lonley" focusing on the Snopes family, the American South, noir, and comedy.
