Objectives: Students shall investigate the relationship between philosophy, ethics and art. The course will be essential to enlarging one's vocabulary in the pre-eminent philosophical debates of today. Through intensive discussion in small seminars students and Badiou will engage the space of dialogue and debate. Students are expected to extensively read the required material and bring their own personal research as it relates to the work to the classroom. It is essential that students engage the texts in a critical and open manner.

Learning Outcomes: Students will have learned the philosophical work of Alain Badiou. Students will demonstrate their philosophical background through applying Badiou's thoughts to their research projects. Students will be prepared to enter academic debates surrounding the key themes of ethics, truth, politics and art.
