"Lyotard/signature - a love story" is a hommage to the French philosopher Jean-François Lyotard. As a key figure in the contemporary discourse he has had a lasting impact on a variety of disciplines ranging from political theory and cultural studies to ethics, aesthetics and art. We see how Lyotards theory and aura are being transformed into dense and ironic media images. The philosophers signature has been co-opted by "the stream of cutural capital." Labels, such as, culture, philosophy, author and biography are shown to be fragile and shifting. The film presents mirrors and celebrates Lyotard's thinking-mood.
