I am currently reviving a nearly extinguished media form, radio drama production, which follows the SONIC sublime. This mode of the sublime in the artificial world can be found in its suggestiveness, the ability of the technological phenomenon to make our ears tingle in anticipation of a sound we somehow understand as being just beyond our grasp. In its elusiveness and obscurity we find true beauty in the digital signal. Somewhere between the pulsing in our headphones and the beating of our hearts there lies a perfect void and thus a perfect palate for the sonic rendering. It is only an artificial environment that can bring our sense together to form a third ear and both augment and heigten our sonic sense.
In the net, the newest technologies of sound transmission creates an idea environment for our rediscovery and expansion of sound communications.
